Elementary Standards Based Grading
Welcome to our Elementary Standards-Based Grading (SBG) System—a student-centered approach designed to provide clearer and more meaningful feedback on students' academic progress. This system aligns grading with specific New Jersey State Learning Standards, allowing us to assess student understanding and skill development in each subject area more precisely.
Our Standards-Based Grading System measures students' proficiency on grade-level standards through various performance indicators. Instead of a single overall grade, students receive feedback on individual learning objectives, helping to identify strengths and areas for growth. This method encourages mastery of skills and knowledge at a personalized pace, supporting every student on their unique learning journey.
Through SBG, parents and students gain a transparent view of academic progress. With a focus on learning goals, rather than accumulating points, we aim to foster a growth mindset and a deeper understanding of key concepts.
